What is your role at the church and what does that mean you actually do?
I am the Office Administrator, which means mine will be the voice you hear when you call the church, and the smile you see when you come in during the week! In addition to being friendly and fun, I will also be working on bulletins, schedules and other general office tasks throughout the week.
Tell me about your family…
I have been married to Eric since 1987, and we have two children. Both are grown and married, and we have a couple of grandkids running around now, too. We love being grandparents!
What are your hobbies/recreational interests?
I knit. I knit a lot. I also write and do other handcrafts, but have I mentioned the knitting?
What is your favorite quote?
It only takes a minute to smile and be nice, and I usually have a minute.
What is your proudest moment?
Watching my husband and children make decisions for Christ.
What was your childhood ambition?
To be a teacher. In truth, I spend a lot of time teaching now, all volunteer. I love to see the light bulb come on over someone’s head when they first “get” a concept.
What inspires you?
It’s cliché, but Jesus. Every time I open my Bible, whether it is an actual Bible or conversation with a godly friend, I learn something new that I want to share with everyone I know.
What has God been teaching you lately?
Patience. I didn’t pray for patience, but God has given me lots of opportunity to practice it just the same.
What is your favorite part of your job?
I know this is a little nutty, but I love office supplies…and people. Both are abundant in the church office, and there are few places I would rather be on an average work day.
