What is your role at the church and what does that mean you actually do? On Staff my title is Auxiliary Secretary. I occasionally help with bulletins, posters, brochures and any other support paperwork. I create the weekly PowerPoint used in worship.
Tell me about your family… I’m married to Bill with a daughter and son-in-law (Faith & Larry). My extended family includes 2 sisters and a brother. Youngest sister is an ordained Methodist minister in Illinois.
What are your hobbies/recreational interests? Way too many interests to list... a few of them include knitting, crochet, painting ceramics, floral arranging and my current, biggest passion is computer graphics.
What is your favorite quote? You may be IN pain, but you don’t have to BE one!
What was your first job? Secretary in the accounting department of a phone company.
What is your proudest moment? I don’t have favorites and I don’t rate happenings in my life. A few proud moments were (in chronological order) joining the church, getting married, having a daughter, seeing her graduate and get married.
What was your childhood ambition? To be a secretary like Perry Mason’s “Della Street.” Of course, now the title has changed as well as the job description. I adjusted and life is good!
What inspires you? Those who can make me think/see things differently.
What is your guilty pleasure? Playing Wii with my husband.
What is your favorite part of your job? Designing items to stir and inspire others. Really, as long as I’m “playing” on the computer (especially in PhotoShop), I don’t have a favorite part.
What do you love about Avon UMC? It’s a comfortable, yet challenging, place to come to worship our Lord with people who are seeking to learn more about being a Christian.
