What is your role at the church and what does that mean you actually do? I am the Organist and Choir Director. I play the organ for all services and direct the choir. We sing in church twice a month and on special occasions.  I also accompany the choir on the piano. The choir rehearses after church on a Sunday. 

Tell me about your family…  My husband, Bill and I have two children, Rachel 11 and Paul  9. We also have five furry children. Simone, Lucy, Tex, Tucker and Gilbert.  We love cats! We also have lots of fish and 4 frogs: Sammy, Soupy, Mo and Freddy.​

What are your hobbies/recreational interests?  Gardening, biking, traveling, making music, spending time together as a family. ​


What is your favorite quote? Psalm 121: 1,2 -- I lift mine eyes to the mountains - where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth.

What was your first job?  I was a percussionist/timpanist/alternate keyboard player in the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra, Cape Town, South Africa.​

What is your proudest moment?  When I invited Jesus into my heart, many years ago.​

What was your childhood ambition?  To become a musician.​

What inspires you?  The excellence of Jesus Christ inspires me to always be in pursuit of excellence in everything I do.  We are not excellent, but we serve a God who is.​

What has God been teaching you lately?  To wait only upon God, and let my expectation be from Him.​

What is your guilty pleasure?  Dark Chocolate.

What is your favorite part of your job?  To serve my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.​

What do you love about Avon UMC?  The warmth and friendliness within the church community.
