What is your role at the church and what does that mean you actually do? I am the Director of contemporary worship and youth ministry. This means that on Sunday mornings I lead the congregation in worship in the contemporary service. I am also the youth director, which means I get to run youth group and hang out with awesome teens and help them grow in faith.
Tell me about your family… I am from Saline, Michigan. I have wonderful and supportive parents and two younger siblings. I am a Michigander at heart.
What are your hobbies/recreational interests? I love music, and that includes singing, guitar, handbells, and cranking my tunes loud in the car. I love to knit and crochet. I love spending time with all people, especially teens and kids.
What was your first job? I was a theater technician in high school in our school theater. I ran lights and worked backstage.
What is your proudest moment? Seeing my sister singing in her youth band.
What was your childhood ambition? When I was a kid, I wanted to be many things, but teacher and professional singer were two of the most popular. So I guess in a way I have fulfill those childhood dreams.
What inspires you? Knowing that God can do amazing things through me. When I get to see someone truly understand God and his love for the first time.
What has God been teaching you lately? He is always faithful, even when I can’t see it. His plans are always greater than mine and he will work good in my life.
What is your guilty pleasure? Ice cream and Grey’s Anatomy.
What is your favorite part of your job? I really love getting to spend my time with other people, showing God’s love and seeing God’s love through them.
