Started in 2017, we hope for Breakfast with Santa here to become your family’s next Christmas tradition. Held the last Saturday before Christmas each year, its sure to encourage the Christmas spirit. Good food, fun crafts and a visit from the Jolly ol’ Elf and the Mrs. make for a great morning for all ages. Two seating times for early risers (8:30-9:30am) and slow morning movers (10:00-11:00) are available. For only $5 per child this Breakfast is one you won’t want to miss.
Hey, Mom and Dad! Are you looking for an evening off (from the kids, at least!)? Watch this space for selected Saturdays to drop the kids off at church from 5 - 8pm, where they will enjoy pizza, games and plenty of fun, and you're on your way! Suggested donation: $10/kid.
Stuck for something to do, now that you don't have kids in tow on a Saturday night? We will strive to provide an evening of entertainment with friends from church (5:30-7:30pm) for just $25/person!
Held each Sunday morning during both our 9:00 service and 10:30 service, KidsChurch is a place for kids to learn about God in a relevant and fun way. This year’s curriculum for preschool and nursery ages is Frolic from Sparkhouse. Little ones will learn about God in simple ways with crafts and age-appropriate lessons. Older kids in Kindergarten to fifth grade are encouraged to join us for fun of their own. Using a brand-new curriculum, the kids learn from “agricultural time-travelers” known as the Truth Trackers how the Old Testament and the New work together to teach us life-changing truths. They won’t want to miss a week as there is a new incentive program that encourages learning through “heartwork”, not “homework”.
The Children's Ministry of Avon United Church reaches God's littlest disciples. The ministry exists to reach children for the Lord, equip families to grow in Christ together and to have fun doing it. We meet Sunday mornings during both services. Children participate in songs, videos, objects lessons, classroom learning and other methods to keep them interested in learning. Periodically there are other children's events including an Easter Egg Hunt, Vacation Bible School, Fall Fun Night, and Breakfast with Santa. When you arrive on Sunday mornings please meet us in the Children's Ministry space inside our church Gathering area to register your child and meet our ministry team.
Not just for kids, our Fall Fun Night is held the Saturday evening after Labor Day as a kick-off to the new school/church year. Fun, food, and festivities make it a night for all ages. Not just for little kids or families with kids, this event is for everyone. Whether it is beating Pastor Micah at cornhole, eating your weight in food or singing songs by the campfire, you won’t want to miss this.
Vacation Bible School or VBS is traditionally one of the biggest summer church events for children. That is no different here. Held mid-summer in the evening, our VBS program will no disappoint. We use new and exciting programming and learn about God in developmentally appropriate terms for kids from aged three (potty trained) to fifth grade. Our volunteers and parents look forward to this week all year long! Registration goes live on our site a month in advance. Keep a look out for the announcement of our 2019 theme and dates coming late winter.
